about

Bonus track --- Written in phase one of PSP - there were no specific briefs in that first phase, other than to write a positive song. I like the sound of my Furch acoustic bass on this, though my voice is showing evidence of the dying remnants of a winter cold... Written in a first-person narrative style, this is a paean to positivity in friendship.

lyrics

Welcome my good friend
Let me pour you a drink
Do you want to talk?
Or sit and do nothing?

I know that all your troubles
Been playing on your mind
But don’t think you’re a victim
Or a slave to being kind

Take the weight right off, are you hungry?
I’ll get us something to eat
Don’t you know your worth?
With everyone you meet?

Not too long ago
My troubles had no end
But you were there for me
Showed the value of a friend

So good to see you friend
I’m glad you like the wine
Now you’ve opened up
The floodgates of my mind

Not too long ago
My troubles had no end
But you were there for me
Showed the value of a friend

Talk to me, talk to me, walk with me, walk with me…

Not too long ago
My troubles had no end
But you were there for me
Showed the value of a friend
